A friend and fellow co-worker invited me on a ski trip with Tour de Sport earlier in the fall. I figured, let’s do it. So I paid the $370 I needed to secure my spot and when the time came in February, I went. We arrived on a Friday evening at the Ramada Inn in Greensburg, Pennsylvania after about 4 hours on a bus with people from Baltimore. The next day we went to the ski resort, the entrance to which is pictured above.

View of the slopes and ski lift.

After some confusion about where to get the ski rental equipment, and signing a waiver I went outside. There was some drizzle, and it was cold. However, I had spent some $50 at Dick’s Sporting goods on some warm gloves and snow pants. So, I was good.

On the left was my instructor Brandon, good people.

I paid $145 for a ski lesson that was supposed to be an hour. But, I ended up showing up at the learner’s square ahead of my group so they put me in a 1.5 hour class with a guy named Brandon as the instructor. There were 4 kids in my class whose ages ranged from about 7-17, two girls and two boys. Brandon was cool. I learned he just got back from taking a group of skiers in Vermont. I asked him in his opinion which is a better place to ski, Vermont or Colorado? He said it would be tough to choose, that they’re just two different experiences.

This is what they call one slice. Portions outta control.

After the class, I got a bit hungry. So I ate at the Foggy Goggle, the cafeteria at the ski resort. I went to the pizza counter and asked for one slice. When the lady gave me the plate above I looked at her like, are you sure. She said that’s one slice. Portion sizes are out of control man.

My living accommodations at the Ramada Inn in Greensburg, PA. The room served its purpose, but honestly I wouldn’t recommend the hotel. This room did have a view of the heated pool though.

In case you were wondering what the accommodations are like at the Ramada Inn in Greensburg, PA I uploaded a picture of my room. I was supposed to have a roommate, but she couldn’t make it on the trip. So, I had this space all to myself to sleep off the Jell-O shots my friend made. He also gave each of the people who came a little goody bag. Great host!

In case you were wondering what was inside the goodie bag my friend gave me.

Olivia Pope may be an aged red wine lover, but I prefer white wine and rosé all the way. This was probably one of the best goodie bags I’ve received in my life.

Chilling at the ballroom for ’80s night.
Full ’80s outfit look. Had to pull items I already owned because I’m watching my coins.

On the two nights we were at the Ramada Inn there were events in the evening. Friday was a Pajama Party themed evening, a theme in which I did not participate. But, Saturday was an 80s themed evening and I tried my best with items I had in my closet. Think Denise Huxtable in A Different World. As for the glasses, they were a pair I bought for cheap on Zenni and I associate big frames with the 80s so that’s that.

Final beer before the long ride home on Sunday.

All in all, a successful ski trip from February 22-24, 2019 before I had to head back to work on the 25th. Even though I’m partial to wine, mojitos and caipirinhas, I decided to sit at the bar and enjoy a nice cold beer before the bus ride home.
