I took a walk around my neighborhood yesterday. My phone’s data was maxed out so instead of listening to a podcast I just observed my surroundings, and entertained a mental conversation with myself.  However, about 10 minutes into my walk, what I observed reminded me of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. I feel like I have to preface this by explicitly stating: no, I was not on drugs.

While Lewis Carroll’s book described the caterpillar as blue and the one I saw was rather green in hue, I must say this looked like a pretty convincing IRL (in real life) representation.

The Green Caterpillar

Okay, obviously the caterpillar was dead, but have you ever seen a green caterpillar?! In other news, the blue caterpillar in the book chills on a mushroom whilst puffing on some hookah (maybe even inhaling, but idk because I’m not an expert). Later on, about five blocks from the caterpillar I came across a group of mushrooms in a patch of grass to the right of the sidewalk. So, naturally, I took a few pics.

I kind of felt like a weirdo taking the photos because people were legit watching me from their windows. I mean at least have the decency to not be so obvious about it; am I right? Anyway, once I got home I figured I’d write a post about what I’d seen. I also thought, dang it would have been awesome if I’d carried the caterpillar and placed it on the mushroom (but I don’t mess with insects).
