I’ve had a love/hate relationship with my physical health for YEARS now, 16 years to be exact. I’ve done Tae Bo, jogging, yoga on Youtube, and even signed up for a kickboxing membership. My issue with working out primarily stems from the fact that I don’t like the process of getting ready to work out, working out, or the sweat that results from having worked out. My favorite part of exercising is when the exercising part is over. Also, gym memberships can get kind of costly–which is why I no longer kickbox at a gym. So, what do I do now? I use Groupon.

The great thing about Groupon, and they are not paying me to say this because I don’t carry nearly as much clout as Tiffany Haddish, is that they offer a full range of exercise options. So I’ve had the experiences of kickboxing, pure barre, and ballet without paying the full price associated with a membership at any of those establishments. The one thing I’ll warn you about is even if you get the Groupon, with the way sales goes, you have to have the strong will to say no when the establishment asks you to sign up for a membership once your Groupon credits run out.  Nevertheless, if saying no isn’t a problem for you, then the skies the limit for what you can experience in the way of exercising on a budget. So next time people ask you what gym do you go to, you can say: “I don’t go to the gym. I take workout classes offered on Groupon. Groupon is my gym membership!”
