Good afternoon friends! I’m reading Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi, and I must say it is AMAZING! I love the descriptions of the characters, the story line, and appreciate the cultural aspects of Nigeria that are woven into the very fabric of the tale (the author is Nigerian American).

I started reading the book on the app Overdrive, a public library reading app. However, since the book was loaned to me while I was out of the country, I spent two weeks in Uganda and my wifi access was pretty spotty, I’m finishing listening to it now on audio (using the Libby app, another public library app on my iPhone).

If you enjoy the fantasy genre, and if you haven’t heard of the book or started reading it yet, please read it. I’m currently on chapter seventy-two out of a total of eighty-five chapters. This may sound long, but the writing is so good you don’t even feel it. Then again, maybe I have a high page number reading tolerance. I’ve read the first Game of Thrones book by George R. R. Martin, all seven HP (Harry Potter) books, all four Twilight Saga books, and Suzanne Collins’ Hunger Games Trilogy.

If you decide to read the book Children of Blood and Bone, let me know what you think. We can even have a book discussion thread. I’d just need to figure out how to do that! Lol
